Despite Libyan Crisis, Obama Campaign Plans to Stay on Schedule

LAS VEGAS – President Obama may be consumed with an international crisis, but the campaign goes on as planned, at least at this point. The president is still scheduled to start a Western campaign swing Wednesday night, with a rally here in Las Vegas and another in Colorado on Thursday.
Mr. Obama’s aides indicated that he would have reconsidered his trip had the violence in Libya and Egypt spilled into a second day in a major way. But with any follow-up protests remaining relatively modest, the president will monitor events from Air Force One as he makes his way here, aides said.  (Emphasis mine, of course.)

Rioters at the U.S. Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia. You're on your own.
Beloved Leader has voted present.

From the White House:

"[The violence] is in response not to United States policy, not, obviously, to the administration, not to the American people -- it is in response to a video, a film, that we have judged to be reprehensible, disgusting. That in no way justifies any violent reaction to it. But this is not a case of protest directed at the United States writ large or U.S. policy -- this is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims."

Yeah. We're all buying that.

  1. Don't you just love it when the adults are in charge? /sarc

How can anyone not admit that Islam hates the US, has always hated the US, and will continue to forever hate the US? I suppose the geniuses at State will next figure out a way to blame the Barbary War on YouTube videos.

    1. Wait a minute...the Barbary Coast pirates WEREN'T reacting to YouTube videos? Then what? Tweets?

    2. Presumably carrier pigeons. Which are pretty close to tweets, or at least close enough for government work.

    3. Sillies, the Barbary pirate issue was in response to the Pirates of Penzance. They couldn't believe that white prissy dancing singers could kick their ass again and again. And the offenses, of course. The offenses were part of it too. Did you know that e-flat was not used once in the musical? Not once.

    4. I'm guessing that we've all decided to retire early to the closet today? 8)
