That's exactly how I feel about it. I'm sick and tired of hearing about the hurt sensibilities of muslims. I'm sick and tired of them trying to manipulate me with guilt or fear. The left behaves the same way but using fear of censure rather than physical violence. They can all just go to hell.
Yup. Pat has been putting out videos like this for years. Some of them are RIGHTEOUSLY good. Like this one.
I'm tired of being called intolerant, homophobic, bigoted, hateful, racist, xenophobic, or anything else. The rage is getting tiresome. I just don't give a fuck anymore.
I think we all are. When you remember that on 9/11, our FINAL wake up call after repeatedly hitting the snooze button for every alarm and rolling over to go back to sleep, we HAD to pay attention to Islam, and now ten years later we are expected to not just tolerate it, but to keep SILENT about our objections.
Indeed, and it WAS 9/11 that woke me up enough to study up on "what is this Islam shit?" What I found out was that here is a very dangerous very evil religion we're allowing to put down roots right in the middle of our countries. That particular day I was doing something in my apartment and saw the planes hitting the towers. I first thought I was watching a film then realised 'Shit! This is really happening' It was then I determined I was going to find out all I could about Islam, and did I ever. It shook me that I was so ignorant about something so dangerous.
That is when I started reading too. Some right wing nut psycho-christian anti-Muslim radical opinion? No, I just read the Koran and then about what parts have been stressed by important Imams. It is not an evil book teaching only evil practices.
I have read interpretations of even the new testament of the Bible where hate and violence have been construed, but that hate is not often taught in churches, it is interpreted and spread by unbelievers.
The most commonly used/quoted phrases of the Koran towards the West concern hating/hunting/converting the infidel.
But it also says: “Believers, Jews, Sabaeans or Christians - whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does what is right - shall have nothing to fear or regret”
The most oft quoted verse of the new testament is arguably John 3:16.
If the above were the most oft quoted verse of the Koran, the world not be the way it is. Don't blame religion, blame the Imams who decide what is stressed. They are the evil. Also remember that the new testaments are 600 years older than Islam. 600 years ago, our church was a lot more brutal, not yet spawning the inquisitions or Martin Luther among other things. For those that do not believe in God, your hands are pretty clean after throwing rocks at Islam, but for believers, the fire and brimstone is somewhat hollow.
I know, I know, spoiling a perfectly good rant topic.
There are several points that I think should be made here. First, Islam is read and interpreted in an abrogated manner, which means that verses which come later supersede or overrule earlier verses. But because they believe everything in the Koran is the literal word of God, then argue that both are true, but the later verses are MORE true. Yeah, doesn't make sense. Doesn't have to. So when Muslims quote the famous verse about religious tolerance, it's in the early part of the Koran and doesn't mean squat. The later part contains the verses imploring them to kill and smite and behead. That's what they pay attention to.
This reality follows Mohammad's life. In his early days of preaching, he spent YEARS preaching peace and no one gave a crap. He had virtually no followers. Christians weren't buying it, Jews, nope. And Arabs had their pagan gods, thank you very much. No one paid the slightest attention to the weird little guy with his hybrid mish mash of Christianity/Judaism/Paganism.
So Mohammad started recruiting men to raid, kill and rape. Told them they were doing it for God and that they would be pleased. And rich. THAT they liked. He quickly got followers (NOT the best, most upstanding men in society, though) and started pissing off everyone, but also scaring them to death. His political power grew and that's when Islam took hold.
It is a political fascistic totalitarian ideology that seeks to control every single aspect of your life, from what to eat to when to sleep.
Christianity never was like that. Even when it had its little flirtation (HAHA!) with politics and became nasty, which everyone who gets into politics seems to, it had within it the teachings of Christ. So Martin Luther simply REMINDED the church of what was the "truth."
What the Muslims are doing RIGHT NOW is their truth. No reformation can change that.

Add me to the list of those that don't give shit what Islam thinks or wants.
ReplyDeleteI'm tired of hearing from the People of Perpetual Petulance.
THAT.

I hold no hope for Islam to "grow up."
