Attacks on Embassies Coordinated

Since our Most Beloved Leader of the Most Transparent Administration in History and his brilliant Secretary of State have reassured us that the attacks on our embassies were by a "small and savage group" that were merely miffed over a film no one had heard about or watched, it is with some surprise and confusion that we learn the attacks were coordinated and probably planned for some time.

From Dan Riehl's Riehl World News we learn:

From a Wired Danger Room report, it appears Sean Smith, who was among those killed in Benghazi was in IT and also an online gamer.

On Tuesday, Sean Smith, a Foreign Service Information Management Officer assigned to the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, typed a message to the director of his online gaming guild: ”Assuming we don’t die tonight. We saw one of our ‘police’ that guard the compound taking pictures.” The consulate was under siege, and within hours, a mob would attack, killing Smith along with three others, including the U.S. ambassador.

Add to Egypt and Libya a few other countries where "spontaneous" outpourings of Muslim evangelicalism threaten:
  • Algeria
  • Tunisia
  • Sudan

Hang onto your hats, kittens. Things are getting very very real.

  1. They knew they were in great danger and nobody ordered them to either evacuate or rushed in a platoon of Marines for defense? It just gets worse and worse.

    1. And remember, these "extremists" are in power as a DIRECT RESULT of our president's actions.

      Just fucking awesome.

  2. Looking at that picture just made me realize something.

The reason the average leftist hated Sarah Palin so, and even fought against having Hilary as their candidate in '08. They are women. Women tend to be kind and soft and nurturing, because we're MOTHERS. But in their little shriveled hearts they know that there is nothing to beat the anger and fierceness of a mother who thinks her charges, whether they be by birth or by choice (as in having been elected), are being physically threatened. We have a tendency to try to find peaceful resolutions if at all possible, but when we give up on peace, the other side tends to find out that the stick we had behind our back was very large indeed, and we wield it with no mercy and no quarter.

    1. The coffee has obviously not worked it's way through the system, because I'm not sure my pronouns make sense.

    2. You are ABSOLUTELY correct. I once heard a Texas Ranger talk about self-defense and home evasions, etc. He said that burglers, thugs normally "case" a joint and the two things they don't want to see: a small dog because you can't catch them and you can't shut them up, and a woman alone with children, because she won't ask questions and she won't call the police. She will shoot your ass until you hit the floor and stop twitching.

    3. OMG! Ligrary-Gryffon! You have Galaxy Quest on your list of favorite movies. That is one of my FAVORITES!!! I don't know why I don't have it listed on mine. Such a sweet, silly movie. Tim Allen is superb and I just love the sweet alien who idolizes him.

    4. Exactly, sweet, silly, and with wonderful, real, flawed but ultimately heroic characters. It's one of those movies you can pop in the DVD player when you want something happy. It also has some of the greatest one-liners. "Oh that's not right!" has to be the one most used by my entire family. "Didn't any of you ever *watch* the show?" Pretty much everything Guy says. And a lot of Gwen's lines too. "Whoever wrote this script should DIE!" "That's a *bad* sound." And then there's taking the ship out of dock, watching everyone leaning to try to help steer it. I admit it, I've leaned with them.

I looked at my blogger profile, and realized that I haven't updated it in a while, so I added Stardust to the list. An incredible movie, and the soundtrack is even more so.

    5. Galaxy Quest fan here too. I updated my profile with some movies and books if you're curious.

    6. LOVE Arsenic and Old Lace, but then I adore Cary Grant. Loved him in North by Northwest.

From your avatar of Robby the Robot, it figures you are a fan of Forbidden Planet, which is also a HUGE favorite of mine. It's one of those movies which actually touches on my own beliefs about reality and energy and how we create our world through thought. Very cool!

But most of those movies, I've never even heard of. Very esoteric, RG. If I were to queue them up in NetFlix, which one should I watch first???

    7. You're NOT going to believe this, but I just wrote a HUGE reply to your movie list and it went into outer space.

Not surprising since I was remarking on Forbidden Planet and its theme of creating our own reality. muuuuuahahaha!

Anywho! Once again...LOVE Arsenic and Old Lace, but I adore Cary Grant. Loved him in North by Northwest and To Catch A Thief with Grace Kelly who was a surreal beauty.

Not surprised you like Forbidden Planet, RG, as your avatar is Robby the Robot and he debuted in that movie.

    8. No, no. That's not Robbie, that's B9 "The Robot" from Lost in Space. I didn't think the movies were that esoteric, the books maybe if you're not into Terry Pratchett or science fiction.

If you like Cary Grant, maybe Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream house. It's a comedy about a guy and his wife from NYC who decides to buy a house in Connecticut and everything that goes wrong. The idea's similar to The Money Pit, if you ever saw that, if it had been written 40 years earlier and starred Cary Grant and Myrna Loy.

Big Trouble in Little China stars Kurt Russell as a sort of inept hero dealing with a mystical threat in Chinatown. It's also a comedy I suppose, it's a little hard to describe.

I'm pretty sure you'd like Planes, Trains and Automobiles. John Candy and Steve Martin are two strangers thrown together trying to get home for Thanksgiving. It's not a standard holiday movie, the Thanksgiving part is kind of incidental. Comedy.

I guess I like a lot of comedies. The others mostly aren't but I'm not sure which way your mood and tastes would send you.

  3. Actually, the movie lore I've read puts Robby the Robot as debuting in Forbidden Planet and then reprising his role in Lost in Space. Just a bit of trivia. Yes, I do like Planes, Trains and Automobiles, it just wasn't a top seller for me.

Mr. Blanding Builds His Dream House is very much like Money Pit. I just can't get into movies where everything goes wrong. I feel too much for the poor people struggling against it all and just don't find it very funny. I never laughed in Disney films when the animals would trash the place either. I don't like messes and I don't like stuff going wrong all the time. I feel like I'm laughing AT someone.

    I'm weird like that.

  4. Oh yes, that's correct about Robby but my avatar is the robot from Lost in Space. He's not as sophisticated as Robby.

Well, phooie. They weren't that esoteric then were they?
