You're a rabid anti-dentite! Next thing you know you'll be saying they should have their own schools.
Got a crown a couple of months ago. The dentist now has a 3D printer to make them while you wait. That was fantastic. I didn't have to worry about losing the temporary or the fact that the novocain never seems to work as well the second time.
RG, I deleted my comment and your reply because I suddenly freaked out that I had mentioned any names and anything personal about a friend. What a moron I can be! GAAAAAA! What a breach of internet etiquette!!!
Poor darling! I haven't had any serious dental work done in years, but I am not a good patient. I have horror stories to tell about wisdom teeth and a root canal.
General anesthesia is the blessed sleep that makes it all go away. I'm all over that.
Heh. If I'm the BFF you're talking about then first of all THANK YOU, this cartoon made me laugh, and second of all, no need for privacy about this on my behalf. I like to share the pain, hahaha!
If anyone's interested, last week I had to get two crowns started (my dentist still doesn't have the same-day option but I love him anyway), which sucked balls because one's an upper right molar and the other's a lower left molar, so my entire stupid face was numb (I hate the numbing more than anything else) and then both sides were sore after the numbness, which made eating for the next 24 hours a real special "treat".
Then, two days later, the lower left one started to really fucking hurt and throb, so I had to go back in and do the root canal on that one that Dentist had suspected I might need when he was prepping it for the crown.
Long story short, I've had a shitty couple of weeks and the worst part isn't even the pain or the hassle, it's the money. Holy shit, the money!! I've spent $4500 in the last 10 days just on my stupid teeth. We have dental insurance but it only pays $1200 a year. So there you go. It sucks. Thank you for listening and commiserating. :)
Blech. Haven't had a root canal yet, knock wood. Are you all done now or do you still have the temporaries? I'm still waiting for them to engineer bud teeth. Where they insert some progenitor cells and you grow a new tooth to replace the old one. I read an article about an animal experiment with that a few years ago but haven't seen anything since.
Yes, Rachel, you were the friend. I told RG in a comment and then I panicked and deleted both his and my comments because ARRGGHH! It's not my place to say shit about anyone out there in wide open PUBLIC land. Everyone should have total jurisdiction over their own "sharing." HAHAHA!
But YIKES! you had the kitchen sink thrown at you, it sounds like. SOOOOooooo sorry! I'm not even going to go into my horror stories, because it sounds as if you have me beat, and if not, then my stories certainly won't help matters.
Don't eat the inside of your face. That hurts. Little tip.

DeleteGeneral anesthetic is the only way to go. I'm at home minus a first molar. My TTR is now .037. I'm still vulnerable.
