Apparently the Obama administration believes the American public -- all 330 million of us -- are complete retards.
But here we have a former senior official from the IRS who deliberately harassed hundreds of conservatives groups. She has taken the 5th Amendment—why? What sort of self-incrimination is she worried about? A look through her emails would have the answer. But those emails are, according to the IRS, unavailable because of a hard disk failure. Do you believe that? Do you believe that that the agency charged with tax gathering for the United States does not have multiple back ups of its business correspondence? Do you? Imagine what the IRS would have to say to a (conservative) business it decided to audit if a response for electronic records was met with, “Gosh darn, we had a hard disk failure, and they’re just plum gone.” Imagine. And why have there not been instant calls for the data recovery folks to get involved? Why?
And Iowahawk reminds us all:
Oddly, government can produce all of your emails from 2009-2011.

Mr. Burge also kindly gives us a teeny bit of perspective:
Nixon, 1973: 18 minute gap.
IRS, 2014: 700,000 minute gap.

So is it even LEGALLY possible for the IRS to have conveniently "lost" two years worth of electronic SENSITIVE correspondence? Hmmmm? Anyone?
OOPSIE! Looks like they didn't actually "lose" it. Looks like it was archived.
IRS Commissioner testified in March Lois Lerner emails were archived. Here is the video #IRS http://t.co/M6Zbl8Hgqc

Even our normally navel-gazing, feckless Congressmen are getting a little peeved over this.
Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) issued the following statement regarding the Internal Revenue Service informing the Committee that they have lost Lois Lerner emails from a period of January 2009 – April 2011. Due to a supposed computer crash, the agency only has Lerner emails to and from other IRS employees during this time frame. The IRS claims it cannot produce emails written only to or from Lerner and outside agencies or groups, such as the White House, Treasury, Department of Justice, FEC, or Democrat offices.
“The fact that I am just learning about this, over a year into the investigation, is completely unacceptable and now calls into question the credibility of the IRS’s response to Congressional inquiries. There needs to be an immediate investigation and forensic audit by Department of Justice as well as the Inspector General.
“Just a short time ago, Commissioner Koskinen promised to produce all Lerner documents. It appears now that was an empty promise. Frankly, these are the critical years of the targeting of conservative groups that could explain who knew what when, and what, if any, coordination there was between agencies. Instead, because of this loss of documents, we are conveniently left to believe that Lois Lerner acted alone. This failure of the IRS requires the White House, which promised to get to the bottom of this, to do an Administration-wide search and production of any emails to or from Lois Lerner. The Administration has repeatedly referred us back to the IRS for production of materials. It is clear that is wholly insufficient when it comes to determining the full scope of the violation of taxpayer rights.”
Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Charles Boustany Jr., M.D. (R-LA) added, "In the course of the Committee's investigation, the Administration repeatedly claimed we were getting access to all relevant IRS documents. Only now - thirteen months into the investigation - the IRS reveals that key emails from the time of the targeting have been lost. And they bury that fact deep in an unrelated letter on a Friday afternoon. In that same letter, they urge Congress to end the investigations into IRS wrongdoing. This is not the transparency promised to the American people. If there is no smidgeon of corruption what is the Administration hiding?"
We will see whether their indignation at being played like cheap banjos will lead to anything other than a swell money-raising opportunity promising yet again to finally end the shenanigans if only you could please send them another hunnerd bucks, Mr. Stupid Retard Citizen.
I doubt it.
The Obama administration and his henchmen in the FBI, the IRS...et al ad nauseum...are simply lying their heads off, completely unconcerned that there will be any consequences -- except perhaps very generous pensions and luxury retirements. On the public's dime. That would be you, Mr. Stupid Retard Citizen. Pay up and then shut up.
When Obama fell on his sword for Holder over Fast and Furious, claiming executive privilege to stop the investigations, no one I knew could understand it. Here was a man who seemed almost to delight in throwing one and all under the bus if they became toxic. But suddenly he was stepping up for Holder. WHY?
I knew why. I told everyone then that Obama needed Holder to ride shotgun for the utter lawlessness of his administration. Not only had they already broken the law -- they intended to continue breaking the law. And, frankly, no one wanted to go to prison for it, which, I suppose, even us retards can understand. Obama needed Holder to remain in that position to shut down any inquiries, investigations, prosecutions of all the shit he knew they'd done...and intended to do, if necessary.
Obama trusts Holder because Holder is as dirty as they come. And after five years, they are all far, FAR too deep in their own shit to come clean now. That would mean prison for all of them.
And so it is.
America is dead, Mr. Stupid Retard Citizen. Stone. Cold.
They have lied so many times to us already and we have taken it. Why would they stop now? Why should they?
And every lie we accepted made us just a little less likely to resist the next one...and the next one...All dictatorships lie, not just because they need to, but because they want to. And because it does more than cover their tracks. It destroys us.
This quote is from one of my favorite authors, Theodore Dalrymple:
“In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is...in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control.
H/T: Bat Shit Crazy News and Zilla of the Resistance
Nah, they know not everybody is a retard, maybe a third. They just don't care because there's nothing we're going to do about it. When the IRS commissioner said "years" he should have been sent to jail for obstruction. Nothing happened. Now they've deliberately destroyed evidence because pretending they were eventually going to produce it was too much bother. Nothing will happen.
ReplyDeleteCorruption in the federal government is rampant, hundreds if not thousands of federal employees should be staring hard time in the face. All the way from department heads down to file clerks. Not going to happen.
You've nailed it. Nothing to add.
