"Liar, liar, plants for hire."

Spongebob: "It's 'pants on fire', Patrick."

Patrick: "Well, you should know."

********

The Obama White House is denying any knowledge of a misleading (and by misleading I mean viciously fallacious with a cherry on top) commercial released this week by Priorities USA Action that attempts to connect Romney to the death of a steelworker's wife who died of cancer some years after being laid off of his job when the plant closed.

"Aaaaahh, yeah....no. We don't know what you're talking about."

"We have nothing, no involvement, with any ads that are done by Priorities USA. We don't have any knowledge of the story of the family," Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters aboard Air Force One.
"I haven't seen the ad, but I have read about it. And I speak for the president, I do not speak for a third-party organization," Carney said in the same briefing.

Only maybe they do know a little something. The same man, Joe Soptic, was featured on an Obama conference call in mid-May of this year.

Really? Dang! I hate it when that happens!

Understand? I understand you're a lying sack.

For as hip and savvy as the Obama Campaign would portray itself, it seems altogether unable to wrap its pointy little collective head around the idea that the internet allows numerous and highly motivated people to check everything...all the time. Gone are the days when you could stuff whatever was inconvenient down the Memory Hole and call it good. So using ol' Joe here to tell his "story" about Romney The Corporate Raider and All 'Round Bad Guy in May and then flatly denying any knowledge of the exact same story by the exact same guy in August is just...well...stupid and possibly illegal. There are campaign laws that prevent this sort of thing. Not that anyone in the Obama camp gives a shit about the law, but perhaps someone somewhere does.

Here is a short list of the lies in this ad:
  • Joe Soptic worked for GST Steel for 30 years.
  • Before Bain Capital ever came around, GST Steel's previous owner was shutting it down.
  • When Bain Capital came in, they cancelled the shutdown, spent a ton of money on renovations and improvements to the company, and kept it running an additional 8 years.
  • Did I miss where this steel worker thanked Mitt Romney for giving him an additional 8 years of employment (and healthcare coverage), that he wouldn't have had if Bain Capital hadn't bought the company? (Yes, kitten, you did miss that. Gratitude is a scarce thing from the left.)
  • Joe Soptic’s wife never had insurance through GST Steel; she had her own plan through her own employer. She lost her job years after GST Steel was closed down. Her loss of her job and her insurance had NOTHING to do with Bain Capital.
  • She died 5 years after GST Steel closed down.

I love destroying people as much as I love
destroying businesses. It's kind of a two-fer.
All lies and deceit aside, let's consider the situation where a steel mill must be closed. Businesses are closed because they can't make a profit. They are not closed, as the ad would imply, so that greedy, rich men can smirk and rub their hands together as they think of all the families they've turned out into the street. So why isn't anyone asking why this steel mill could not make a profit, even with the massive investment and renovation from Bain Capital? Perhaps we are looking at a situation where the loving embrace of government, with all its regulations and taxes, was just a trifle too enthusiastic? Or perhaps union workers, with cushy benefits and stuffed retirements, were a bit over zealous in their assessment of their own worth? I don't know. But I'm betting.

So, after years of unsuccessfully trying to turn GST Steel into a profitable company, Bain Capital decided to close it. This makes Bain Capital, whether Romney was around or not, evil. And by evil I mean eeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvviiiiiiiiiiillllllllllll!

However, when Solyndra took over $535,000,000 of taxpayer money and then went bankrupt, leaving their employees without jobs or benefits, we aren't supposed to be worried about them at all because that was a situation where Our Dear Leader and his crack team of economic strategists, motivated solely by humane and enlightened concern for our planet and the lovely Democrats who call it home, decided to "invest" in green energy to give us the promised future of receding waters and a healed planet. (We won't even mention these intelligent, enlightened, green government investments...)

We're in good hands, kittens. Just sit down and shut up. One peep and we'll call you a racist.

Mugging Maugham

The news lately has been filled with democracy-killing union-busting, horrifyingly out of control state budgets, and the deplorable quality of service the taxpayer receives for his hard-earned dollars. This is depressing and I think it's important to look on the bright side, if only once in awhile.

High school English teachers from across the country have submitted the best of the best from their creative writing students, highlighting the outstanding teaching they've done with their young charges. It's inspiring.

  1. Her face was a perfect oval, like a circle that had its two sides gently compressed by a Thigh Master.
  2. His thoughts tumbled in his head, making and breaking alliances like underpants in a dryer without Cling Free.
  3. He spoke with a wisdom that can only come from experience, like a guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it.

"Heh, guys, what if we could figure out a way to have the core of what we believe soundly rejected by the voters of a swing state just five months before the national election? Just might be the boost we need."

Money Talks and Bullsh*t SCREAMS!

The left is going apoplectic after the resounding defeat of Barrett and his UNIONS FIRST message in Wisconsin. Apparently it is inconceivable to them that the voters rejected their openly opportunistic, even corrupt position that taxpayers should meekly be on the hook for whatever the unions want. Basically the message from the left was, "Pay up, bitches." And the taxpayers inexplicably said, "No."

How could this be? How could those stupid worker bees taxpayers just wake up like that?

Simple. Money. Lots of it. So much of it that it murdered democracy or something.

Even more nefarious, the implications are that it was OUTSIDE Koch brothers' money.

So just empty your pretty little heads that issues like contracting with insurance companies for considerably more money than necessary to enrich the companies, the union bosses and Democratic politicians, or asking union members to shoulder the outrageous and democracy-killing burden of minimally contributing to their own pension and insurance benefits had anything to do with it.  Because you would be wrong.  And stupid.  And easily bought with BIG KOCH MONEY.  (I am soooooo glad their name is pronounced Coke!)

To the left, winning or losing is never about the issues, because they are always the good guys and therefore always on the good side. For anyone to disagree with them, it has to be a matter of stupidity or gullibility. Period.

So here's the equation:

Left spends money: getting out the message
Right spends money: brainwashing the stupid

There. That's all there is to it.

This handy little equation can be applied to the 2008 campaign as well. Remember, kittens, how much money Obama raised to get out the message? Yeah...twice as much as McCain. But that was perfectly fine because it just meant that the left had all that sweet sweet money to inform the voters and the right had significantly less money with which to fool them.

Of course, even when it comes to money, the left might be lying.  I know...but stranger things have happened.

In the meantime, I feel a song coming on...

Bring it...

The Morning After

On Wednesday morning in Wisconsin, Governor Walker was STILL Governor Walker. But for pouty babies, reality wasn't setting in. Did anyone think it would? Pouty babies need to grow up. Until then, they need a HUGE timeout.

I'm all choked up. Really, I am, dear. Here... I hope this helps.

Unions vs. Evil Rich

Whoopsie! Well, this is a little uncomfortable.

Hard to maintain the "little guy" moniker when you see figures like this. Although, to be honest, Democrats will manage to do it. They're just really, really good at characterizing any amount of money spent to advance the power of the state as benevolent and compassionate, and one single dollar spent to advance freedom as evil, selfish and cruel.

And we let them.

OOOOH BOO HOO!

Terri List would no longer recommend teaching as a profession because she will not be able to retire at 47, as planned.

Or for pity's sake!
Terri List says she would tell her students not to become a teacher in Michigan.

Why?

One of the reasons is because the Saginaw Township Community School District English teacher won’t be able to retire at age 47 as she has hoped.

List was highlighted by the Michigan Education Association as one of the critics of Senate Bill 1040, which would require public school employees to contribute at least 5 percent of their compensation to their retirement plan.

What planet do public "servants" and public employees live on? Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, but public employees are from Uranus.

Charles Owens, president of the Michigan chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business, said tongue-in-cheek that List was “spot on” in her complaint.
“If you want to retire if you are 47, apparently teaching is not the place to go,” Owens said. “The least Terri could do is provide a list of places other people could go so they can retire when they are 47.”

Yeah...we'd ALL like to know, sweetheart.
