HOW DID HARRY REID GET RICH?
Try this thought experiment. Imagine that someone grows up in poverty, works his way through law school by holding the night shift as a Capitol Hill policeman, and spends all but two years of his career as a public servant. Now imagine that this person’s current salary — and he’s at the top of his game — is $193,400. You probably wouldn’t expect him to have millions in stocks, bonds, and real estate.
Public servant, my ass.
Night shift Capitol Hill policeman eh? I'll bet a guy without a trace of morality could set himself up pretty well financially with a job like that. Not Harry of course, a financial supergenius like that will just naturally rise to the top.
ReplyDeleteWe had a local congressman that followed the same path.
ReplyDeleteAs my mother described the man: "He was an attorney without a pot to piss in and window to throw it out of.", yet, when he retired, after years on the banking committee, he had controlling interest in at least ten banks.
A less polite society would call him a crooked bastard.
I guess he got his comeuppance, when he was boo'ed at the last parade he had balls to ride in. Of course, a true circumstance of justice would have ended with a lightning strike and a funeral.
More like public serpent.

DeleteOkay, here is first on my wish-list: The R's, who usually form a circular firing squad and immediately commence fire, become careful and deliberate and take the Senate in the Fall elections. Then, as a first order of business after the new year, form the Senate into a committee of the whole and oust Reid for being the mendacious, corrupt prick that he is. Ah, to dream of a just world...
ReplyDeleteDon't hold your breath.
DeleteHow did Harry Reid get rich? He did it the old fashioned way: he stole it.
ReplyDeleteAnd now, Harry may be up on ethics violations ... as if Barbara Boxer on the Senate Ethics committee would do anything about it.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons our government is running amok is that they all cover for each other.
