Liberals are the New Tories

Once upon a time liberals "spoke truff to  power" and righteously called for the impeachment of a president over an enemies list and spying and bullying, which was bad even though the president in question was only spying and bullying and collecting the names of DEMOCRATIC POLITICIANS, which, when you think about it, is sort of understandable though reprehensible and we should always be careful to act disapprovingly and tut-tut over such behavior and raise our eyebrows and purse our lips just to make sure everyone understands that we sincerely disapprove...even though it WAS directed just at Democratic politicians.

Zoom ahead to the topsy-turvy world of today's liberals where they cheer their king when he turns the full force of government muscle on its OWN CITIZENS attempting to exercise their rights to support and elect candidates which represent their values. For today's liberals are staunch supporters of the king.  Now they LOVE the government and the establishment and the power structure! Now they LOVE THE IRS for having an enemies list and bullying and spying! Now it's for "the cause." Now it's for King Obama. And, besides, it was highly effective. So don't expect any liberal to be upset or disapproving of the similar tactics of special prosecutor Francis Schmitz in Wisconsin.

Perhaps the probe will turn up some nefarious activity that warrants this subpoena monsoon and home raids. But in the meantime the effect is to limit political speech by intimidating these groups from participating in the 2014 campaign. Stifling allies of Mr. Walker would be an enormous in-kind contribution to Democrats. Even if no charges are filed, the subpoenas will have served as a form of speech suppression.

Mr. O'Keefe told us that the flurry of subpoenas "froze my communications and frightened many allies and vendors of the pro-taxpayer political movement in Wisconsin and across the country." Even if no one is ever convicted of a crime, he says, "the process is the punishment."
(Emphasis most emphatically mine)

 H/T: DOUBLEPLUSUNDEAD

We're supposed to be laughing at the little Prince and his Court of Clowns.

I fully realize that everyone has already seen these articles, but I've been busy and so, in a 24/7 news cycle, that means I'm late to the party. Is everyone already drunk?

Last week Jonah Goldberg wrote in the National Review about the three-ring goat rodeo and clown circus that the launch of Obamacare has become:

But come on, people.

If you can’t take some joy, some modicum of relief and mirth, in the unprecedentedly spectacular beclowning of the president, his administration, its enablers, and, to no small degree, liberalism itself, then you need to ask yourself why you’re following politics in the first place. Because, frankly, this has been one of the most enjoyable political moments of my lifetime.

If I believed for one teeny minute that the spectacular failure of Obamacare would actually mean its demise, I would be laughing until I cried. I would be sending out postcards that read:

But I don't.

I truly believe that we've entered a time in our political history when the political class DO NOT CARE what effects their policies have on us. They care only about the increase of their own political power and they aren't even slightly worried about our reaction to that reality. Oh...there are a few Democrats who are in purple districts and might be sent home over this, but the politburo considers those comrades expendable. As long as the power is maintained by the socialists and progressives and all-round creeps, the DNC doesn't give a hoot for the personal careers of vulnerable senators or congressmen.

Ask yourself, when was the last time a government social program was scraped because it was disastrous, expensive, inefficient, immoral, unfair, and unconstitutional?

I'll wait.

Obamacare is just the beginning of the end. It is the mile marker on our hike into socialism. Next stop -- utter despair.

And the Clown Prince Obama and and his Court DO NOT CARE, and they aren't going back and they aren't giving in and they aren't going to fix anything.

So Mr. Goldberg can find joy in the enormous and unmitigated failure of all failures, as do I, but only because it is better to laugh than to cry.

Because as I always say, "Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone because you look horrid and feel worse with puffy eyes, a stuffy nose, and a migraine headache."

Even though Obamacare would cover that if you could get insured, the deductibles mean you're paying for that out of pocket, sucker. Crybaby. Wimp. Loser.

Mark Steyn, sets out the new reality for us all to grasp:
On Thursday, he passed a new law at a press conference. George III never did that. But, having ordered America’s insurance companies to comply with Obamacare, the president announced that he is now ordering them not to comply with Obamacare. The legislative branch (as it’s still quaintly known) passed a law purporting to grandfather your existing health plan. The regulatory bureaucracy then interpreted the law so as to un-grandfather your health plan. So His Most Excellent Majesty has commanded that your health plan be de-un-grandfathered. That seems likely to work. The insurance industry had three years to prepare for the introduction of Obamacare. Now the King has given them six weeks to de-introduce Obamacare.
We just suffered through a government shutdown where we witnessed 90 year old WWII veterans barred from visiting their own memorial, tourists barricaded into hotel rooms for fear that they might see Old Faithful blowing off steam and -- HORRORS! -- take a picture, and death benefits being denied to soldier's families because Prince Obama wasn't having ANY of the Republicans' efforts to delay implementation of Obamacare. He wasn't going to be held hostage. Oh no...

NOW it's Prince Precious' idea and so everything is fine, except it probably -- HAHAHAHA! PROBABLY -- isn't even legal.
“I wonder if he has the legal authority to do this,” mused former Vermont governor Howard Dean.
Can I ask WHY we have men and women ELECTED TO MAKE AND UPHOLD THE LAW not knowing whether an action is LAWFUL OR NOT?  Can I ASK that???? Shit, people, this is ridiculous. "Ahh...duurrr...I just got myself elected by lying and bribing. I don't knows nothing 'bout laws and stuff."
Later that day, anxious to help him out, Congress offered to “pass” a “law” allowing people to keep their health plans. The same president who had unilaterally commanded that people be allowed to keep their health plans indignantly threatened to veto any such law to that effect: It only counts if he does it — geddit? As his court eunuchs at the Associated Press obligingly put it: “Obama Will Allow Old Plans.” It’s Barry’s world; we just live in it.
This is a Clown Prince determined to act unconstitutionally.  This is the plan, folks. Every time he is able to clearly and defiantly act outside the law and challenge the eunuchs in Congress who shuffle and mumble and whisper among themselves, "Can he even DO that?" he increases the power of the office. The presidency inches closer to dictatorship.
The reason for the benign Sovereign’s exercise of the Royal Prerogative is that millions of his subjects — or “folks,” as he prefers to call us, no fewer than 27 times during his press conference — have had their lives upended by Obamacare. Your traditional hard-core statist, surveying the mountain of human wreckage he has wrought, usually says, “Well, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.” But Obama is the first to order that his omelet be unscrambled and the eggs put back in their original shells. Is this even doable? No. That’s the point. When it doesn’t work, he’ll be able to give another press conference blaming the insurance companies, or the state commissioners, or George W. Bush . . .
And through it all, the god-awful, insultingly stupid, embarrassingly incompetent, outrageously illegal shenanigans, we are expected to be so compliant, so eager for his petty favors, that We The People don't even challenge shit like this:

Still, as historian Michael Beschloss pronounced the day after his election, he’s “probably the smartest guy ever to become president.” Naturally, Obama shares this assessment. As he assured us five years ago, “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors.” Well, apart from his signature health-care policy. That’s a mystery to him. “I was not informed directly that the website would not be working,” he told us. The buck stops with something called “the executive branch,” which is apparently nothing to do with him. As evidence that he was entirely out of the loop, he offered this:

Had I been I informed, I wouldn’t be going out saying, “Boy, this is going to be great.” You know, I’m accused of a lot of things, but I don’t think I’m stupid enough to go around saying, “This is going to be like shopping on Amazon or Travelocity,” a week before the website opens, if I thought that it wasn’t going to work.

Ooooo-kay. So, if I follow correctly, the smartest president ever is not smart enough to ensure that his website works; he’s not smart enough to inquire of others as to whether his website works; he’s not smart enough to check that his website works before he goes out and tells people what a great website experience they’re in for. But he is smart enough to know that he’s not stupid enough to go around bragging about how well it works if he’d already been informed that it doesn’t work. So he’s smart enough to know that if he’d known what he didn’t know he’d know enough not to let it be known that he knew nothing. The country’s in the very best of hands.
(EMPHASIS MINE!!!)
Remember, Obama didn't have a clue about the IRS scandal until he heard about it on TV, just like the "folks." And he was playing cards with Reggie Love when bin Laden was taken out. Oh, and he was packing for a weekend in Vegas when Benghazi went down.

Apparently, just because he never knows a damn thing doesn't mean he isn't really, really smart.
Michael Beschloss is right: This is what it means to be smart in a neo-monarchical America. Obama spake, and it shall be so. And, if it turns out not to be so, why pick on him? He talks a good Royal Proclamation; why get hung up on details?
All in all, I could just puke.

I'll be in my Drinking Closet. If anyone wants to join me, it's BYOB. I'm not sharing today.

Well...this is embarrassing.

At least I can stop worrying about how I'll look in a bikini over the next several DECADES! I'll be in sweaters and wool slacks, thank you very much.

A leaked report by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says that the world is not warming but actually cooling, and will continue to get colder until the middle of the century.

You remember the IPCC, right? It’s the group whose 2007 report on global warming said that snow would disappear from everywhere but the highest mountains, icebergs would melt, sea levels would rise, deserts would spread, people would die in heat waves and pretty much the earth was going to end if we didn’t immediately destroy our carbon-fueled economy with job-killing government regulations.

Well, that’s not happening. In fact, the Arctic ice cap has grown by 60 percent since 2012.Thanks to the IPCC’s original predictions, billions of dollars were spent on supposed green measures to curb global warming, according to the Telegraph. Now, either those measures really, really paid off, or the skeptics were right all along.

See what humans can do when they get together on an idea and share a big group hug? We saved the planet!

Now can I have my light bulbs back?

Eating out the middle.

Interesting statistic: The Democratic Party is now made up of two principle factions: the poorest among us...and the richest.

Curious.

This, of course, leads to the deductive conclusion that the Republican party is increasingly made up primarily from the middle...'cause what's left?

Anywho...what do the poorest and the richest have in common when supporting Democratic policies?

hmmm....

Neither group CARES about higher taxes.

The poorest don't pay them...they only receive the benefits of government largess. Remember, 50% of the people in this country do not pay income tax presently. If it costs you nothing to support more free stuff...how you gonna vote?

The richest can afford another 5% or whatever. Think an increase in taxes will affect Bill Gates? Not bloody likely.

But the middle class? The small business owner trying to keep afloat with ever increasing taxes on a small margin of profit? The guy trying to maintain payroll for the men and women he knows personally...probably has over for dinner...who goes to their kids' school plays...? Another 5% or 8% can mean the difference between keeping your staff and laying them off. Between staying afloat and going under.

We are constantly asked by our politicians to judge with righteous indignation the relatively few large corporations as greedy and opportunistic, and some undoubtedly are...but remember, more than 68% (in good times) and an astonishing 80% (historically in bad times) of the people in this country get their jobs from SMALL BUSINESSES...NOT these evil big bad corporations. And the kicker is that all the while these corporations are paraded before us as the destroyers of America, it is THEY who have the power through lobbyists and political contributions to help shape the policies that are touted as bringing them under control! Not small business. So while we get whipped into a frenzy and demand that "something be done" about a few corporations which are actually in on the game, sleeping with politicians for political and economic favor, it is the middle class and the small business owner that inevitably get squeezed and squeezed.

Hateful conservatives continue to push phony IRS scandal despite Dear Leader's assurance that it is really, really phony.

Obama's lies and arrogance and contempt for the American people are beginning to make his initials, B.O., really mean something. There's something rotten in Denmark...and the White House -- and it stinks to high heaven.

PEEEE EEEUUUW!

This is a scandal that should never go away. It should dog Obama through the rest of his presidency. I don't for a minute believe that our gutless Republicans will adequately pursue this or bring anyone to justice or be able to root out ANY of the deep-seated corruption that is now endemic throughout the bureaucracy of our government. It will have to be the American people who don't let this die. Obama didn't create this level of massive corruption; bureaucracies become corrupt all on their own. He was just the first president who had the balls to harness and direct the corruption. Fully. Contemptuously. Flagrantly. Willfully. And with malice.

Lots of malice.

I told you so.

This is the post where I "out" myself as a hate-filled, homophobic, reactionary, intolerant Christian. But before I regurgitate my bile on this page in a spew of hating hatefulness against everyone who leads an "alternative" lifestyle, let me say that some of the nicest, most decent, kindest and most generous people I have ever known were also people who led "alternative" lifestyles.

When I was a little girl, my mom knew a young woman who had been brutalized by her father, both physically and sexually. She then had a series of relationships with men that all were replays of her relationship with her father. She finally became a lesbian. It was literally a matter of self-preservation...of survival. Her partner was a classic dyke - masculine and completely lacking in any feminine sensibilities. The pair were delightful. They were simply wonderful people and great fun to be around. As a child, I didn't care or give it much thought. Certainly no one explained anything to me and everyone acted as if it all was completely normal. It wasn't until I was much, much older that I realized that they were a lesbian couple. It never mattered to me. It still doesn't.

Straight out of college, I worked for a major international airline. I probably don't have to reassure anyone that most of the men who work as flight attendants are gay. If you were ever uncertain...they are. I knew lots of gay men during my time in the airlines. Some were complete jerks. Some were fantastic and I loved them. In either case, I didn't care whether they were homosexual or not.

But when the movement began on the left to decriminalize sodomy, I said then that this was only a first step and they wouldn't stop until they had NORMALIZED homosexuality. I told everyone, despite their incredulity, that the left wouldn't stop until they had legalized gay marriage. I even went so far out in the weeds as to predict that the left was really after the children. I predicted that the left would fight for gay marriage, and then they would carry the fight to normalize pedophilia. Everyone said I was a horrible person. I shrugged, agreeing, in a general sense, with that assessment. But still I stood by my prediction.

I was right.

Pat Dollard brings us this story:

Using the same tactics used by “gay” rights activists, pedophiles have begun to seek similar status arguing their desire for children is a sexual orientation no different than heterosexual or homosexuals.

Critics of the homosexual lifestyle have long claimed that once it became acceptable to identify homosexuality as simply an “alternative lifestyle” or sexual orientation, logically nothing would be off limits. “Gay” advocates have taken offense at such a position insisting this would never happen. However, psychiatrists are now beginning to advocate redefining pedophilia in the same way homosexuality was redefined several years ago.
I told you so. A decade ago gay activists took offense at the suggestion that they were going after marriage when they insisted that they only wanted to not be criminals in their own bedrooms. Remember, with the left, you're always the loon if you can see where they are really going.

In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. A group of psychiatrists with B4U-Act recently held a symposium proposing a new definition of pedophilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of

Mental Health Disorders of the APA.

B4U-Act calls pedophiles “minor-attracted people.” The organization’s website states its purpose is to, “help mental health professionals learn more about attraction to minors and to consider the effects of stereotyping, stigma and fear.”
"Minor-attracted people". It would be funny if it weren't so hideously, sickeningly degenerate.

In 1998 The APA issued a report claiming “that the ‘negative potential’ of adult sex with children was ‘overstated’ and that ‘the vast majority of both men and women reported no negative sexual effects from childhood sexual abuse experiences.”
This is pure, unadulterated hooey. We are a sick, sick nation if we let this move even one, tiny, baby step forward. This must stop. Now.

But wait. Pedophiles...and any and all other sexual deviants, are already protected by our government.

Pedophilia has already been granted protected status by the Federal Government. The Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act lists “sexual orientation” as a protected class; however, it does not define the term.

Republicans attempted to add an amendment specifying that “pedophilia is not covered as an orientation;” however, the amendment was defeated by Democrats. Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fl) stated that all alternative sexual lifestyles should be protected under the law. “This bill addresses our resolve to end violence based on prejudice and to guarantee that all Americans, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability or all of these ‘philias’ and fetishes and ‘isms’ that were put forward need not live in fear because of who they are. I urge my colleagues to vote in favor of this rule.”
Get that? "...all alternative sexual lifestyles should be protected..." All. No distinction. No line in the sand. No bridge too far. No point at which you are outraged and want to throw up at the ungodly hideousness of it all.

When the laws against sodomy were struck down, they weren't being used to persecute gays, and they hadn't been used against gays for decades. But they did stand as a legal line of demarcation beyond which we, as a society, could not go. When they were struck down, sexual behavior was no longer seen as properly regulated by the law. It was a brave new world. Anyone could do anything with anyone at any time. Of course everyone said that was crazy talk.

Who's crazy now?

I am angry. Really, really angry. The final destruction of society will be evidenced in our willingness to sacrifice our own children to our basest, more prurient natures. We already can kill them as they attempt to draw their first breath under the protection of the law. Why not prey on them once they are born?

This is pure evil. There is no other word for it.

If you haven't read this over at Ace of Spades HQ, you should.

The GOP Isn't Going To Be Able To Force A Defunding Of ObamaCare

Actually, that headline should be a trifle longer.

The GOP Isn't Going To Be Able To Force A Defunding Of Obamacare, AND THEY WOULDN'T IF THEY COULD

Read it and weep. Although, I don't imagine any of his analysis is particularly SURPRISING to those paying attention. It is, however, chillingly predictive of just exactly what is going to happen.

ObamaCare in all its freedom and economy destroying glory is a done deal. The reality is that was the case back in November when Mitt "ELECTABILITY" Romney got his ass kicked by a President sitting on one of the worst economies in history.

There's simply nothing the GOP can do about it now. And if you think they are going to win in 2016 by promising to repeal one of the largest entitlement programs in history, you're crazy. And if you think they'd actually do it if they win, you're even crazier.

Nope, from now on the GOP mantra, led by the Chris Christies (who I predict with be the GOP nominee in 2016) of the world will be "fix" ObamaCare. You know like how we've spent decades "fixing" Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. The GOP isn't the party of smaller government and more freedom it's the party of big government just run a little differently.

The only people who will still be talking about repeal will be scammers who want money to sign "An urgent petition to tell Washington blah, blah, blah".
No one in Washington wants the problems fixed. Then how would they keep us all in such an agitated stated that we pour money into their re-election coffers for fear the "other guy" will win?

I haven't been in the "LET IT BURN" camp, but now I'm pitching my tent and setting out my folding chair. To hell with all of them.

Pretty soon people are going to be getting better healthcare from their veterinarians.  Bark like a dog.

The only guy left is the idiot at the top.

The IRS scandal is proving to be a hot potato and career bureaucrats are tossing it from one department to another, seemingly willing to "out" anyone and everyone...well, anyone and everyone except the President of the United States who blithely assured us all at the outset of this story that he didn't have a clue. Unsurprisingly, all of us took him at his word.

But now, unfortunately, it appears there isn't anyone else to blame except the stunningly intelligent yet admittedly ignorant POTUS.

But President Peace Prize has promised us he's as upset as anyone and determined to get to the bottom of it, by golly. Sort of. But one must understand that $100 million dollar vacations with the family to Africa and deeply painful yet inspired public musings on how he could easily have been a teen-aged thug who jumped a man and tried to beat him to death must take precedence over the uncovering of the largest, most potentially damaging scandal in the history of the presidency.

Our President is a man of vision and sacrifice. In the midst of scandal he can push himself away from the daunting task of delving into rampant and abusive political corruption to grant himself and his family a much needed va-ca in the land of his ancestors (no, not Ireland). In the midst of scandal, he has the humanity to give a speech citing myriad incidents of racial injustice he suffered in his own youth. In the midst of scandal, our Beloved President found a way to insure that Trayvon's death was not in vain; it allowed him an opportunity to talk about himself yet again, and that's always a handy thing. Thanks, Trayvon. You're a real team player.

So, while busying himself with Very Serious Matters, like endless rounds of golf and vacations halfway around the world, or with the tragedy of Trayvon stirring memories of how terrible his own life had been in his early years, President Peace Prize put his best man on the job of ferreting out the truth in the twisted trials of the IRS and the Tea Party. Bulldogs for Truth like ranking Democratic representative, Elijah Cummings, are proving worthy of President Obama's promise to uncover just what happened. In piercingly insightful questioning, Congressman Cummings asked IRS official, Elizabeth Hofacre whether President Obama had ever just picked up the phone and spoken to her directly about deliberately, systematically, and illegally targeting political enemies.

Her answer was no.

And that, kittens, was good enough for Bulldog Cummings. Apparently Rep. Cummings' level of proof is not a smoking gun, it's not even a stained dress. No, Rep. Cummings apparently needs Obama to stand in front of the Congressional hearing in a blood-stained shirt, holding a gun, sobbing, "Yes...YES! I did it. I targeted the Tea Party! I hate those bastards!"

Absent that, there is no scandal, and Bulldog Cummings would like for everyone to realize that and go home. Please. Please, dear God, everyone just go home and drop this whole thing.

However, Rep. Trey Gowdy, one of the racist Tea Party assholes, just won't take "no" for an answer.
Rep. Trey Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican, finally woke the proceedings up with what he called "the evolution of the defense" since the scandal began. First, Ms. Lerner planted a question at a conference. Then she said the Cincinnati office did it—a narrative that was advanced by the president's spokesman, Jay Carney. Then came the suggestion the IRS was too badly managed to pull off a sophisticated conspiracy. Then the charge that liberal groups were targeted too—"we did it against both ends of the political spectrum." When the inspector general of the IRS said no, it was conservative groups that were targeted, he came under attack. Now the defense is that the White House wasn't involved, so case closed.

This is one Republican who is right about evolution.

"That's not rain."

David Angelo explains trickle down economics.

Apparently trickling down prosperity is so much more socially just and progressive when it's trickling down through the theft of government instead of the action of a free market. Who knew?

Prison inmate admits it ain't lobster, but it's good enough for you proles.

And it's all you're getting. So EAT it!

Indiana school district loses $300K because students refuse to buy first lady’s healthy meals

School officials in Carmel Clay, Ind., said they lost $300,000 last school year because students are rejecting the healthy menu changes brought on by First Lady Michelle
Obama’s federal lunch regulations.

“I’ve had a lot of complaints, especially with the little guys,” Linda Wireman, a food service director for North White School Corp., told JCOnline. “They get a three-quarters cup of vegetables, but if it’s something they don’t like, it goes down the garbage disposal. So there are a lot of complaints they’re going home hungry.”

Mama Michelle says it's for your own good. Don't you see, kittens? You desperately NEED someone to tell you what to eat, and how much to eat; someone who is wiser, smarter, more caring and so much less materialistic than you grubbing, grasping little corporately brainwashed consumer idjits that she can see through the trappings of wealth and power and compare living in the White House and jetting around on vacations to prison. Yet despite her trials, she takes time out of her grueling prison schedule to make sure you don't get one single thing more than you need. Because she cares. While this may be confusing for many of you inner city children as you choke down your meager cup of mushy vegetables while watching Air Force One whisk away the prison inmates on another multi-million dollar vacation, this confusion only serves to prove how stupid you really are.

I think I've made my point.

Besides, there's always this:

I think it's ironic that the kids who listened to this music and screamed at authority are now the ones insisting that you eat your meat!

What are the odds?

Over at Fellowship of the Minds, this little essay does make one wonder...what are the odds that all these events just happened?

It's a head scratcher, for sure.

[The essay below was originally published as "Just Happened....," in The Obama Timeline, Sept. 30, 2012.]

Any one of these ‘coincidences’ when taken singularly appear to not mean much, but when taken as a whole, a computer would blow a main circuit if you asked it to calculate the odds that they have occurred by chance alone. Sit back, get a favorite beverage, and then read and ponder the Obama-related ‘coincidences’ … then super-impose the bigger picture of most recent events i.e. Fast and furious, Benghazi, the IRS scandal and the NSA revelations … then pray for our country.

Obama just happened to know 60′s far-left radical revolutionary William Ayers, whose father just happened to be Thomas Ayers, who just happened to be a close friend of Obama’s communist mentor Frank Marshall Davis, who just happened to work at the communist-sympathizing Chicago Defender with Vernon Jarrett, who just happened to later become the father-in-law of Iranian-born leftist Valerie Jarrett, who Obama just happened to choose as his closest White House advisor, and who just happened to have been CEO of Habitat Company, which just happened to manage public housing in Chicago, which just happened to get millions of dollars from the Illinois state legislature, and which just happened not to properly maintain the housing—which eventually just happened to require demolition.

Valerie Jarrett also just happened to work for the city of Chicago, and just happened to hire Michelle LaVaughan Robinson (later Mrs.Obama), who just happened to have worked at the Sidley Austin law firm, where former fugitive from the FBI Bernardine Dohrn also just happened to work, and where Barack Obama just happened to get a summer job.
 Keep reading...it gets worse.

My Little Pony -- with a DAGGER!

This just makes me want to sing my Unicorn song.

You know, there are days when I sincerely, truly, honestly, right down to my very toes, WISH I could be as happily brain dead as the average liberal. Wouldn't that be nice? Of course I know everyone is going to jump in with comments about how I should never wish that because it's like wanting to be a hippie or something, but GAAAAH! sometimes it's just too much when you realize how horribly awfully in trouble our country is and you have so many people who don't know or don't care or actually are happy about it.

This video is the reason for my gray mood. How is it possible to find so many complete idiots just roaming the streets? HOW?

Although, to be fair, a good number of them are informed. They are also outright fascists.

And IRS stands for IDIOTS REALLY SUCK.

Duh! Everyone knows that.

I'm crawling into my Drinking Closet early today. With my unicorn, thank you very much.  If anyone disturbs me, I'll have my unicorn run you through.

This guy stole my idea so I'm going to fly a plane into the Transamerica building in San Francisco.

My idea was that if the NSA is going to be listening in on every single phone conversation, reading every email, and generally making itself a royal, tyrannical, overbearing, sloppy, stupid, ineffective pain in the ass, then we should all start referencing terrorist acts as often as possible. I think of it as sort of a public service. Otherwise, the rest of the country might get the idea that the federal government is a colossal waste of money. Then the next time President Peace Prize threatens us with the End Of The World because someone somewhere suggests he stop spending so goddamn much money, no one will even look up from Game of Thrones. And that would be bad.

"Sequestration? Is that some kinky new thing that the Queen and her brother are doing?"

H/T: Thanks, Rachel Lucas!!

What about the children of Republicans?

When it's about the children -- and it's always about the children for the left -- there is no expense too great, no restriction of freedom too ominous, no increase in governmental power too dangerous. Every story of deprivation or hardship wrung from the trembling lips of some liberal politician would convince us that the entire human race was being brought to its knees because government was not big enough to stop some child's pain.

OH! The humanity!

Of course, we're talking about the right kind of children. When they are the wrong kind of children, children of Republicans or conservatives -- or children who haven't been born just yet -- tough. Federal government employees are eating lobster and drinking champagne in $3,500.00 per night hotel rooms, thank you very much. And you are furloughed and borrowing money for your child's birthday present.

Representative Trey Gowdy attempts to point out the hypocrisy. Of course, hypocrisy is lost on Democrats.

We have a government that has grown monstrous on promises that it could alleviate all our pain, if it were just a little bit bigger, had a little more power, and now it's become the biggest pain in the ass in the neighborhood. Oh...and no receipts, either, on that party, dude. The lords at the IRS needn't answer to anyone, least of all you, Mr. Average Citizen. Just shut up and sit down. We'll get to you eventually. If you're (un)lucky.

Remember when we were supposed to be outraged -- OUTRAGED!! -- because Ann Romney had spent her own money supporting a rider and horse in their quest to make the Olympic team?

Yes, well....Now we learn that the IRS spent tens of thousands on logo swag and line-dancing lessons, but you are only to remember that Ann Romney is a rich, unfeeling white raaaaaaaaacist who chose not to spend her money on children!!! Oh...and Mitt didn't hug his garbage man. Because he does. not. care. There is no other reason. None. I won't point out that I don't know a single Democrat -- not one -- who has ever hugged their garbage man, or taken him out a drink of water, or has even so much as waved at him, because that would be petty. And no liberal Democrat would get my point anyway.

We all know that anyone who supported Romney did so solely out of racism. We all know that anyone anywhere at anytime who has not supported President Peace Prize or has anything to say against President Peace Prize is simply racist. Because Obama has never done a thing wrong in his entire life.

In. His. Entire. Life.

EVER.

Oh. And neither has anyone in his entire family...just for good measure.

Wrap your heads around that, kittens, and try to reconcile it with a world that is still even marginally sane. I'm betting it can't be done.

Although, to be fair, there is this:

Because this, too:

Lots more there there. UPDATED WITH ACTUAL FACTS.

There are so many there's there it's hard to keep them all straight.

I am sitting here in front of my computer, stunned...shocked...feeling that it would be hard to be overly dramatic - which is a forte of mine. I can't even think of anything clever to write. I am simply in shock. Not because I didn't know any of this. I have read various blogs over the last few months which claimed much of what is in this new post. My shock is that this is happening -- has been happening since September -- and we are all still sitting in our living rooms, going to our jobs, picking up our children from school, believing that there is someone -- anyone -- in Washington DC who will actually do anything of real significance to stop the insanity and destroy the Obama coup d'etat.

Or that even half the country gives a shit.

Mark my words, if Obama survives this, he is invincible and he will know it. This is his stare down moment.

If he wins, this nation is lost.

George Carlin once said something along the lines that when fascism comes to America it won't be wearing jackboots and carrying clubs, it will wear a smiley face.

Obama's America
He was wrong.

It will be angry, corrupt, vengeful, dangerous, vindictive and deadly.

Winston Churchill once said:
“If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival. There may even be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."
Kittens, we are rapidly moving past the moment when we can fight and win at all. We may very well soon reach the moment when we are only fighting to die as free men and women.

Think I'm joking? Being too dramatic? I hope so.

UPDATE!!!

Yesterday I was getting all "het up" and agitated, so when this blog post crossed my screen, I posted it. Today, I've done just a LITTLE homework and learned that Admiral Lyons made the statement about a possible kidnapping as a speculation because he could not think of any other reason for the events at Benghazi to play out as they did, and the massive cover up by the administration.

Still. These are the questions that should be pursued in Washington. By independent counsel.

Here a there, there a there, everywhere a there there.

Despite the fervent assertions of our most Esteemed, Beloved and Altogether Terrific POTUS that "there is no there there", there does seem to be rather an inordinate number of there's popping up in the capital.

Why...there's another there now.
Has the Obama Department of Justice Violated the Separation of Powers? California Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA) says that the Department Of Justice tapped phones in the rooms where Congress members speak informally and off the record, eat, sleep and socialize when they’re not on the floor of the House of Representatives or in their individual offices. These rooms are known as “cloak rooms”, which are the spaces in which a lot of informal conversations occur… both between Congress members, and Congress members and reporters.
Holy shit!

But not to worry. It's the good guys who are spying on the bad guys. It would be SO. WRONG. if the Rethuglicans were doing this sort of thing to Democrats. But we can all rest assured that not only will Barack Braveheart spring into action to get to the bottom of all this, he will do it without missing a single tee time.

I could just puke.

Oh...and speaking of puking...I never knew what Gertrude Stein looked like.

That is one ugly.......whatever.

All funned out.

I find myself in the curious position of feeling apologetic that I haven't been blogging, yet deeply embarrassed by my apparent belief that anyone cares enough that I should actually need to apologize.

"Sooooo sorry I haven't been around, everybody."

"Really? We hadn't noticed."

HAHAHAHA!

It is to laugh.

Honestly, life in my neck of the woods has gone just a little nuts and trying to stay abreast of how insane the rest of the world is going at the same time has proven overwhelming. Let's do a little rundown, shall we?

Benghazi...meh...a sideshow, really. "Just a bump in the road." Dead people always are.  And really, at this point, what does it matter? It happened a long time ago. Just a big "whatever."  Or more like, "Huh?...Ben who?"

The press is doing its job.

IRS scandal...the "Enemies List" turns out to BE the enemy...you know...those bare-footed, overall-wearing, slack-jawed swirly-eyed, conspiracy-loving conservatives. So...no problem. Move along...

AP scandal...Okay...what?...wait - just - a - minute...

Republican are pussies...if there is any wrongdoing...could be...maybe...might...Judge Jeanine Pirro is tired of all of them.

Noam Chomsky thinks Obama's a tyrant. I am in an alternate universe, aren't I?

I'm just waiting for the streams to cross and end everything as we know it to cease to exist.

Even Jon Stewart is beginning to understand just what this country is up against.

But it's still really funny, see? So let's all laugh with supreme self-satisfaction at how smart we are even as we are forced to admit that maybe...just possibly...those idiot mouth-breathers ACTUALLY got one right. Okay...now that we've had our little laugh, what did Bush do?

In the meantime, I've got my hat....

If this keeps up we'll be hearing that David Brooks has finally come to realize that the crease in President Precious' pants just isn't what it used to be or Paul Krugman will finally admit that there really IS a point where government can spend too much money. Okay...I know that last one will never happen. I was just throwing that out there. A little joke.

Honestly, the world is making me giggly, and a little silly. The best reason of all for why so many things are going so incredibly badly for Obama and his oh-so-smart administration is David Axelrod's. Apparently the government is too big for anyone to run without massive stupidity fucking things up everywhere. No kidding.

"The government is so vast."

This really did make me laugh out loud. Not with the soul-satisfying, regenerating, therapeutic laugh of real happiness or relief, but with the crazy, cackling bursting laughter of someone who just realized that the scaffold being built for their own execution isn't going to be strong enough to hold their weight.

But not to worry. The guards will have guns. They'll get the job done one way or another. Fun times.

The extra special giggle, though, comes when you remember that the agency Axelrod complains is simply too big for anyone to be able to know what they're doing or how well or even how LEGALLY they're doing it is going to get 16,000 more employees to administer your healthcare coverage.

Did I say fun times? I meant end times.

LET THE END TIMES ROLL!

"What difference at this point does it make?"

As I typed that headline, I considered typing it all in CAPS to convey the level of impassioned outrage displayed by our beloved Secretary of State Clinton as she railed against the indecency of a Senate committee actually questioning her decisions concerning Benghazi.

How DARE anyone question her? Besides, none of that mattered since we had four dead Americans!

Why ask why?

Indeed.

Now, it would seem that their suspicions were not unfounded.

The 46-page report accused Clinton — a possible White House contender in 2016 — of seeking to cover up failures by the State Department that could have contributed to the attack last year that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

The report, compiled by five House panels after a seven-month investigation, said Clinton approved reductions in security levels prior to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, contradicting Clinton’s testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Jan. 23.
I'm sure Ms. Clinton just misspoke in the heaving passion of the moment. One can get important -- nay, vital -- information confused when one is beating one's chest and pounding the table in righteous fury. You try acting that outraged and keeping all the lies facts straight.

“Repeated requests for additional security were denied at the highest levels of the State Department,” it said. “For example, an April 2012 State Department cable bearing Secretary Hillary Clinton’s signature acknowledged then-Ambassador [Gene] Cretz’s formal request for additional security assets but ordered the withdrawal of security elements to proceed as planned.”

But Clinton insists that far too much crosses her desk for her to give a shit about any of it. Yes. That's her excuse.

Clinton testified that the more than 1 million cables that come to the State Department from the field every year are addressed to her and those that go out from Foggy Bottom bear her signature, regardless of who wrote them.
Democrats' best and most widely used response to their incompetency is always, "But I'm incompetent." And it always seems to work.

The report appears to be -- at least in part -- intended to protect Bubbling Boehner from conservative criticism over his overt efforts to bury the Benghazi scandal. Not surprisingly, it has infuriated Democrats.

Democrats slammed the report for “politicizing” the Benghazi attack; the ranking Democrats on the five committees that issued the report said Democrats had been excluded from the process that created it.

Oh boo hoo. If the Democrats had seriously desired to get to the truth, they've had seven months for just ONE of them to step up and demand an investigation. So they were left out -- finally? Doesn't appear they ever wanted to go to this party.

The independent audit faulted State for “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels” leading up to the deadly attack.

But the audit’s investigators did not interview Clinton, and did not recommend that anyone be fired because it “did not find reasonable cause to determine that any individual U.S. government employee breached his or her duty.”

The GOP report said State changed talking points that Ambassador Susan Rice used on television five days after the attacks in order to “insulate” the department from criticism, not to protect the FBI’s investigation.

When stupidity, arrogance and corruption are the expected characteristics of government bureaucracies, then you can't be FIRED for utilizing them so brilliantly. In fact, you're typically promoted. In Obama's case, you're re-elected.

Voter fraud IS voter suppression.

Brilliant point.

The Democrats' most vociferous and intransigent point concerning Voter Id laws is that they would serve to "suppress" the vote of the poor and the minorities. Put aside the uncomfortable reality that once that gauntlet of unassailable racism is thrown, there is never any explanation of HOW or WHY it actually suppresses the votes of anyone. Our Virtual President explains how it all actually works. And it's not the way the Democrats have told us it works.
