I know you'll think I'm crazy, but for some reason I can't fathom, these biscuits had a really nice buttery flavor to them. I just can't figure that out.Ogrrrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10367747403389258422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-555191244102972923.post-74443880366420969852013-04-19T10:02:15.526-07:002013-04-19T10:02:15.526-07:00YUMMMY! I'm going to make these to serve with fried chicken, mashed potatoes and cream gravy.

THANKS!!!Buttercuphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10201235659652895050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-555191244102972923.post-13921795834074574722013-04-19T08:46:42.481-07:002013-04-19T08:46:42.481-07:00I just took some from-scratch buttermilk biscuits ...I just took some from-scratch buttermilk biscuits out of the oven. They are ever so much better than store bought, or the biscuits you get at KFC or Church's. They are really simple, too (just like me).
2 C self rising flour
1/2 C shortening or margarine (I used 1 stick of butter)
1 C buttermilk

Preheat oven to 450
cut butter into the flour
add the buttermilk and stir with a fork until a moist dough is formed.
turn out on a lightly floured surface, sift flour onto the top of the mass and kneed until no longer sticky. (you may have to add a bit more flour)
roll dough out to about 1/2 inch thick and cut out the biscuits. (a glass rim dipped in flour will work if you don't have a cookie/biscuit cutter)
Place biscuits 1/2 (soft sides)to 1 inch (crusty sides)apart on a cookie sheet (I prefer a non-stick sheet)
Bake 10 to 12 mins.Ogrrrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10367747403389258422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-555191244102972923.post-25159671290704645222013-04-16T14:59:08.136-07:002013-04-16T14:59:08.136-07:00I will never EVER slap you for gardening.
